What is known
MARIA LERENA'S SISTER NATALIA, THE FOURTH DAUGHTER OF THE 1853 PETITION, FOUND 19 October 2026. 'Natalia Lerena' is godmother with Ramon Fernandez on 21 August 1858; 'Manuel Vaquero y Natalia Lerena', Orientales, are the parents of Manuel Indalecio, born 21 May 1862, whose godparents are Alexandro Lerena and Margarita Fernandez, and of Pablo, born 26 January 1866 ('naturales de San Jose'). The godparents of 1862 are her parents. HER PARENTS ARE NOW STATED, 19 October 2026: the San Jose baptism of 5 March 1864 (machine transcript) of her daughter Alejandra Justa, born 26 February 1864, 'hija legitima de D. Manuel Vaquero y de Dona Natalia Lerena; abuelos pat. D. Pedro y Dona Manuela Muniz; Mat. D. Alejandro y Dona Margarita Fernandez' - her father and mother are Alejandro Lerena and Margarita Fernandez, the pair of the San Jose acts. HER MARRIAGE FALLS IN THE SECOND HALF OF 1861: on 4 July 1861 'Manuel Vaquero' petitioned the Montevideo curia to marry 'Dona Natalia Lerena, vecina del Pueblo de la SSma. Trinidad en Porongos' and was granted the dispensation of the three banns (expediente no. 440), the despatch going to the cura of Trinidad; their son Manuel was born on 21 May 1862. HER HUSBAND IS NAMED AS HER HUSBAND IN 1889: the civil act of 11 March 1889 names her as the wife of Manuel Vaquero and says that of the marriage one son remains, 'llamado Manuel Vaquero'. Her daughter Alejandra Justa and son Pablo (born 1866) are not named as surviving in 1889. This is the daughter the petition's 'nueve hijos, entre estos cuatro mujeres' needed beside Maria, Estefania and Socorro.
