Maria LERENA (of Trinidad, m. Maximo Pelaez 1885)

26 JUNE 1885, THE SAME DAY AS ANTONINA: dispensed the THIRD GRADE of consanguinity WITH ATTINGENCY TO THE SECOND, by the UNEQUAL lateral line, to marry DON MAXIMO PELAEZ. 'With attingency to the second' means TWO SEPARATE BLOOD PATHS AT ONCE - the families were tied twice over. TWO LERENA WOMEN OF TRINIDAD DISPENSED IN ONE SITTING, one to a Fernandez and one to a Pelaez. A CONSANGUINITY DISPENSATION IS A STATEMENT ABOUT ANCESTRY. The Church computed the degree before it would dispense, so the entry constrains a pedigree even though it names no parent. The register itself names NO PARENTS - it is the Vicar General's summary ledger, not the expediente. NO BIRTH YEAR WAS RECORDED HERE UNTIL 9 OCTOBER 2026, and before that one was briefly invented. This row first carried a year reached by assuming an ordinary age at marriage - that year is gone, and the one standing in this row now is a clerk's stated age, not an assumption. That is a guess wearing the clothes of a fact, it is what this archive did to William John Taylor on 8 October, and tools/check-duplicates.py caught it the same way - by matching the invented year against real namesakes. The dispensation register gives no age and no birth. AND NOW SHE HAS A BIRTH YEAR FROM A RECORD, 9 October 2026. The Flores birth act of 10 March 1922 names the child's paternal grandparents as 'Don MAXIMO PELAEZ, oriental, FALLECIDO, y Dona MARIA LERENA, oriental, VIUDA, de CINCUENTA Y TRES anos de edad, de profesion labores de su sexo y domiciliada en esta Seccion (Cuchilla de Villas-Boas)' - so born about 1869, married at about sixteen, and a widow by 1922. THE INVENTED YEAR WAS WITHDRAWN ON 8 OCTOBER AND THE REAL ONE ARRIVED ON THE 9TH, from a clerk who wrote her age down. AND SHE HAS A SON: VITALINO GREGORIO PELAEZ, born about 1888, who in 1913 needed his own dispensation to marry a Lerena. THE TRANSCRIPT READS HER SURNAME 'SERENA' AND THE PLATE READS 'LERENA', four lines from a 'Lerena' the same transcriber got right.
