G. LERENA Marin (b. c.1891; Gerardo, panadero of Sarandi Grande)

A SON OF MANUEL DOROTEO LERENA AND JACINTA MARINO, DECLARANT OF TWO BIRTHS AT SARANDI GRANDE, FOUND 4 November 2026. 'Don GERARDO LERENA, de veinticuatro anos, casado, oriental, jornalero, vecino de este pueblo' (21 August 1915, act no. 131, before Manuel R. Pereyra) declares the birth of his son on 15 August 1915 at half past seven in the morning; the paternal grandparents the act names are 'Manuel Doroteo Lerena, de cuarenta y seis anos, viudo, oriental, jornalero y vecino de este pueblo, y Jacinta Marino, oriental, finada': the act says it of the grandparents, so he is their son by the act's own wording. He signs 'Gerardo Lerena'. On 18 September 1917 (act no. 137) he is 'de veintisiete anos, casado, panadero', and the grandfather is 'de cincuenta y tres anos, viudo, jornalero y vecino de Libertad, departamento de San Jose'. The two acts give 24 and 27 for one man, so a birth about 1891 is the middle of the two, not a reading; the grandfather is 46 and 53 in the same acts (and 49 in 1905, 54 in 1909 in the death acts), so the ages in these acts do not agree and none is taken as a birth year. HIS FATHER IS TAKEN FOR THE MANUEL LERENA OF THE ROW 'Manuel LERENA (son of Mauricio, m. Jacinta Marina 1882)' on the name Manuel Doroteo, the widowhood and the wife Jacinta Marino, as for his sister Jacinta Telma (b. 1886): the acts of 1915 and 1917 name no 1882 marriage and no parents for him. His wife is Pura Marcelina Berrueta; their son Mauer Asuncion (b. 15 August 1915) and daughter Maria Idola (b. 12 September 1917). The Gerardo Nicasio Vaquero Lerena of Trinidad (b. 1898) is another man. HIS MARRIAGE, 26 OCTOBER 1914, 4 November 2026 (civil act no. 23, Sarandi Grande, 10th Section, before Manuel R. Pereyra; film 008165690, image 736, ark 3:1:3Q9M-CS28-83SK-X, read at the plate and zoomed): 'Don GERARDO LERENA, de profesion jornalero, de nacionalidad oriental, nacido el dia once de Diciembre de mil ochocientos ochenta y nueve en la ciudad de MONTEVIDEO y domiciliado en este pueblo, hijo de don MANUEL DOROTEO LERENA, de estado viudo, de profesion jornalero, domiciliado en este pueblo, y de dona JACINTA MARINO [read], ... que fallecio en Montevideo el ano 1904'; he marries PURA MARCELINA BERRUETA, born 31 January 1896 at Sarandi Grande, a daughter of Juan Berrueta and Natalia Caceres; 'Legitimaron'; WITNESSES Juan Alejandro Suarez [read, fifty-nine, casado, empleado, of Cela Mala] and Juan Lagardez [read, twenty-seven, casado, carpintero]; signed 'Gerardo Lerena' and 'Pura M Berrueta'. HIS BIRTH IS 11 DECEMBER 1889, NOT 'c.1891' (the register's estimate from the birth act of 1915). He is a witness again at the marriage of Eustaquio Berrueta and Rita Berriel on 24 July 1915 (see that act in the note of Pura Marcelina).
