A SON OF MAURICIO LERENA AND PETRONA AGUILAR, AT SARANDI, DEPARTAMENTO DE FLORIDA - NEW TO THE REGISTER, FOUND 4 November 2026. He declares the birth of his daughter, as 'Don JULIAN LERENA y AGUILAR, de treinta y tres anos, casado, oriental, criador, vecino de esta Seccion', with his own hand signing 'Julian Lerena y Aguilar' (act no. 94 of 28 November 1900, image 91, READ AT THE PLATE AND ZOOMED). THE ACT NAMES HIS PARENTS BY HIS CHILD'S GRANDPARENTS: 'nieta por linea paterna de MAURICIO LERENA, oriental, de sesenta y un anos, casado, militar, domiciliado en Sarandi, y de la finada PETRONA AGUILAR, oriental'. His father is therefore, by the two names together, the Mauricio Lerena who married Petrona Aguilar (Trinidad, 1866), and the same act makes that man 'militar' of about sixty-one, living at Sarandi; see the rows of Mauricio and Petrona. WIFE: Justina Caceres (twenty-two in 1900), daughter of the late Gregorio Caceres and of Justina Piaggio (a widow of Sarandi). HIS AGE: thirty at the birth of his son Eduardo (act no. 15 of 29 March 1899, image 11), thirty-three at the daughter's (November 1900); a birth about 1869. HE ALSO STANDS WITNESS, the machine transcript only and the plates not opened: 'Julian Lerena Aguilar, de treinta y tres anos' on acts of images 59 and 90 (1899-1900); not counted as events. THE YEAR OF THE ACT: the scribe wrote 'mil ochocientos noventa y' and struck it ('Testado ochocientos noventa y: vale'), so the act is 28 November 1900 (the neighbouring acts of images 93-100 run to December 1900 and January 1901). NOT KNOWN: his baptism (none is held), his death, and whether he is named for 'Julian Aguilar', the father of Petrona and godfather of Paula Gregoria at Trinidad in 1866 (a lead only). The older Florida birth volume (1892-1899) holds two more acts of his: Julian, born 22 March 1896 (act no. 12 of 27 March 1896, image 178; he is 'de veintisiete anos'), and Andres, born in November 1897 (act no. 70 of 19 December 1897, image 250; 'de veintinueve'); with Eduardo (1899) and Maria Angelica (1900) his FOUR CHILDREN BY JUSTINA CACERES. The act of 1896 gives his father 'Mauricio Lerena, de sesenta anos, casado, criador, domiciliado en Sarandi' and his mother Petrona Aguilar as 'la finada ..., de treinta y cinco anos'. HIS DEATH, 7 FEBRUARY 1902, AND HIS SON ANDRES'S, 2 AUGUST 1899, 4 November 2026. Civil death act no. 4 of 17 February 1902 (Florida, 'Death Records 1897-1912', image 80, read at the plate): 'JULIAN LERENA ... nacido en el departamento de Flores, de treinta y tres anos, casado, criador' died at half past seven in the evening of 7 February 1902 at Piedras Coloradas of 'tisis laringea' (the doctor's name is read Aragunde), in the house of Don Mauricio Lerena; 'hijo legitimo de Don MAURICIO LERENA, oriental, casado, militar, de sesenta y dos anos, domiciliado en Piedras Coloradas, y de la finada PETRONA AGUILAR; abuelos paternos Mauricio Lerena, finado, y CASIMIRA MONTANA, ochenta anos, viuda, San Jose; maternos JULIAN AGUILAR, finado'; 'el finado deja por sucesion su esposa JUSTINA CACERES y tres hijos que son JULIAN, EDUARDO, MARIA ANGELICA' (Andres, who died in 1899, is not among them); the declarants are his brother Mauricio Lerena (nineteen) and his uncle Miguel Lerena (forty-four). THIS IS THE SECOND NAMED 'JULIAN' OF THE ACT: he is thirty-three in 1902 (a birth about 1869), as 'treinta y un anos' in 1899 and twenty-seven in 1896 fit.
