What is known
A THIRD DAUGHTER OF CUSTODIO LERENA AND EMMA CARDOZO TO DIE IN THE WINTER OF 1937-38, NEW TO THE REGISTER, FIVE YEARS OLD AND DEAD ON 5 JANUARY 1938, FOUND 4 November 2026. Trinidad, Primera Seccion, civil death act no. 4 of 5 January 1938, 12 o'clock, before Luis Garcia Lagos Ramirez (group image 685, item 3, READ AT THE PLATE AND ZOOMED; declarants Martin Raul Cristech, twenty-three, casado, empleado, and Hector Maria Reiner, twenty-one, soltero, empleado; the margin 'Serena Eva Blanca'): 'a las dos horas del dia de hoy y en la calle Comercio no. 433 [read; the act of the day before reads 733] fallecio EVA BLANCA SERENA, del sexo femenino, de nacionalidad oriental, nacida en esta seccion, de cinco anos de edad, a consecuencia de tos convulsa [read] y bronconeumonia, segun consta del certificado del Doctor Adolfo Uraga [read]; que la finada era hija legitima de CUSTODIO SERENA, oriental, de cuarenta y seis anos, casado, [tractorista read], y de EMMA CARDOZO, oriental, de cuarenta y cuatro anos, casada, labores'. SHE DIED ON 5 JANUARY 1938 (died 5 January 1938, 'el dia de hoy'). THE ACT WRITES THE SURNAME SERENA (the body of the act and the margin), a form the Atlas catalogue already holds for this family's name; THE PARENTS ARE THE SAME COUPLE AS IN THE ACT OF THE DAY BEFORE (Lita Blanca, no. 3 of 4 January 1938: Custodio, forty-six, and Emma Cardozo, forty-four, the same declarant Hector Maria Reiner, the same street), and the other daughter's act reads the surname Lerena at the plate, so this is read as Lerena. HER SISTERS: Lita Blanca, seven (act no. 3 of 4 January 1938; see her row) and the baby Lis Blanca, five months (act of 9 November 1937; see her row): three of the couple's daughters within two months. NOT KNOWN: her birth (no act is held; the civil births after 1925 are not read), her second name beyond 'Blanca', and whether the cause ('tos convulsa y bronconeumonia') was the same illness as her sister's.
