Baptised 5 December by Don Dionisio Garcia Caballero, 'Juan Cipriano, que nacio el veinticuatro de Junio de este ano. Es hijo legitimo de Don Cipriano Lerena y de Dona Lauriana Beloqui, orientales. Abuelos paternos Don Mauricio [Lerena] y Dona Casimira Montana; maternos Don Pedro y Dona Dorotea [surname not read]. Fueron padrinos Don Mauricio Lerena y Dona Brigida Cerdes' - the paternal grandparents are Mauricio of Colla and Casimira Montano, the godfather a Mauricio Lerena (possibly Cipriano's brother, the Manuel Mauricio of 1838). THE YEAR is not read whole: the machine writes 'setenta el y cuatro', the book is of 1876-1879 and the entry before it ends 'ta y ocho', so 1878 is taken; the plate would settle it.
