Angelica Maria LERENA Villademoros
A THIRD CHILD OF AVELINO EDUARDO LERENA TRAIBEL AND CELEDONIA VILLADEMOROS, new to this archive 27 September 2026. Born 8 April 1872 and baptised at the Iglesia Matriz on 29 September 1872, between Avelino Pedro Joaquin Silvestre (1866) and the family's later record. The act reads: 'bautizo solemnemente en ella a ANGELICA MARIA, que nacio el ocho de Abril del presente ano, hija legitima de AVELINO LERENA, argentino, y CELEDONIA VILLADEMOROS, argentina. Abuelos paternos AVELINO y AMBROSIA TRAIBEL, abuelos maternos PEDRO y ANGELICA MENDEZ. Fueron padrinos ALEJANDRO M. LERENA y ELISA VILLADEMOROS, a quienes instruyo.' THE INDEX DATES THIS ACT 1919 AND IT IS 1872 - FORTY-SEVEN YEARS OUT. What the indexer read is the CERTIFICATE: 'expido la presente ... en Montevideo a veintiocho de Septiembre de mil novecientos diez y nueve', signed Ramon Howard at the Basilica Metropolitana. This archive already had the rule for that - a certified copy carries two dates and the index takes the wrong one - and this is the largest gap it has yet produced. SHE MARRIED A ZALDUANDO, found 27 September 2026 the same day she was entered here. The Uruguayan civil index carries her as 'ANGELICA LERMA DE ZALDUANDO', daughter of Celedonia Villademoros and a father the machine renders 'Arabia Larena Lerena' - which is AVELINO LERENA. INDEX ONLY: no image opened, and 'Lerma' is the index's word, not a record's. The marriage itself has not been found and is the next thing to look for. HER HUSBAND MAY ALREADY HAVE BEEN IN THIS REGISTER ALL ALONG, UNDER ANOTHER SURNAME - 11 October 2026. Row 186 asked who the 'Zalduando' of her married name was. The civil register gives him as 'EDUARDO ZALDUANDO POU', dead at Montevideo on 22 August 1913 aged fifty-two (born about 1861), certificate 553, son of JUAN and DOLORES POU; so she was WIDOWED AT FORTY-ONE. It names two children: EDUARDO AVELINO, born about 1901 at La Paz in Canelones, who married Maria Ester Costa there in 1927, and MARIA MARGARITA LUISA. AND ON 11 OCTOBER 2026 THE DUPLICATES GATE CAUGHT SOMETHING MUCH LARGER THAN A DUPLICATE. Four index entries had been worked up as a NEW family - an 'Eduardo ZALDUONDO Pou' with parents Juan and Dolores Pou, married to a Lerena, with a daughter Maria Margarita. Every one of those people was ALREADY IN THIS REGISTER UNDER ZALDUONDO, off the 1903 Pocitos plate. Set side by side the agreement is fourfold: the husband EDUARDO; his father JUAN; his mother DOLORES POU; and a daughter MARIA MARGARITA - with the wife a Lerena daughter of AVELINO and CELEDONIA/CELIDONIA in both. Two unrelated Montevideo households do not match on all five. SO IT IS ONE HOUSEHOLD, AND ONE OF THE TWO SURNAME READINGS IS WRONG. The 1903 reading is from a PLATE; the 1913 reading is from an INDEX, and it is the same index that renders Lerena as 'Lerma' and Avelino Lerena as 'Arabia Larena Lerena'. A PLATE OUTRANKS AN INDEX, so ZALDUONDO is the better reading and 'Zalduando' is most likely its mangling - which also explains why the 1903 machine transcript called him 'DEL SUANDO', a string far closer to 'Zalduando' than to what the plate says. NOT MERGED YET, AND DELIBERATELY SO. The test is one plate: DGS 008165206 IMAGE 283, the 1913 death act, which gives the surname and the parents in the register's own hand and should name the widow. It was attempted on 11 October 2026 and the image viewer REDIRECTED TO A SIGN-IN - false-zero disguise seventeen, which this archive has met before. WHAT THIS MEANS FOR HER SPECIFICALLY: the 1903 Pocitos plate gives that same Eduardo's wife as AMELIA Lerena, not Angelica. Either SHE AND AMELIA ARE ONE WOMAN under two readings of one forename, or AMELIA IS A SISTER and the 1913 index has put the wrong sister's name on the act. SHE IS NOT MERGED WITH AMELIA. AND A SEPARATE CAUTION, EARNED THE HARD WAY: the first draft of this work was written onto MARIA ANGELICA JULIA LERENA SALVANACH, born 1886 - the same four names in a different order - by a prefix match on 'Maria Angelica'. The chronology caught it: that woman would have been fifteen when this couple's eldest was born. NAME ORDER IS NOT IDENTITY. Her death year is given as 1952 by the FamilySearch tree (profile GBST-SC4), which is SECONDARY and is recorded here as a lead, not a fact. HER OWN MARRIAGE IS STILL NOT FOUND. BOTH PLATES WERE READ ON 11 OCTOBER 2026 AND THEY SETTLE THE HOUSEHOLD AND OVERTURN WHAT THIS ARCHIVE SAID ABOUT IT THAT MORNING. The surname is ZALDUONDO, not Zalsamendi: the 1903 act heads its entry 'Maria Zalduondo' and names the father 'Eduardo Zalduondo', and the 1913 act says 'ha fallecido Eduardo Zalduando ... era hijo de Juan Zalduondo y de Dolores Pou, fallecidos'. ZALSAMENDI WAS A MISREADING AND IT STOOD THREE WEEKS. AMELIA LERENA IS THIS WOMAN, AND THE ROW THAT HELD HER SEPARATELY SINCE 14 SEPTEMBER IS MERGED HERE. The 1903 Pocitos act makes MARIA MARGARITA LUISA the daughter of Eduardo Zalduondo and 'AMELIA LERENA', with maternal grandparents 'AVELINO y CELIDONIA B. de LERENA'. The 1913 act makes the same Maria Margarita one of THREE CHILDREN OF HIS UNION WITH 'ANGELICA LERENA'. ONE CHILD CANNOT BE INSIDE TWO DIFFERENT UNIONS, SO THE TWO NAMES ARE ONE WOMAN - the alternative, that he married two sisters, is refused by the 1913 act placing Maria Margarita inside the Angelica union. HER PARENTS SETTLE WHICH WOMAN: 'Avelino y Celidonia B. de Lerena' is AVELINO EDUARDO LERENA TRAIBEL and CELEDONIA VILLADEMOROS, this row's own parents. THE FORENAME CONFLICT IS NOT EXPLAINED AWAY, ONLY OUTVOTED: her 1872 baptism says ANGELICA MARIA and the 1913 act says ANGELICA; only the 1903 priest wrote AMELIA, clearly and at high magnification. 'AMELIA' IS KEPT AS A RECORDED VARIANT, NOT ERASED. HER HUSBAND, FROM HIS OWN DEATH ACT: EDUARDO ZALDUONDO, born at MONTEVIDEO about 1861, JUBILADO (retired) by fifty-two, died 22 August 1913 at calle Juan B. Blanco 9 of angina de pecho, certified by Dr Bordoni Posse, son of JUAN ZALDUONDO and DOLORES POU, BOTH ALREADY DEAD BY 1913. So she was WIDOWED AT FORTY-ONE. AND THERE ARE THREE CHILDREN, NOT TWO: MARIA ELENA, EDUARDO AVELINO and MARIA MARGARITA [LUISA]. Maria Elena is new to this archive and nothing else is known of her. HER OWN MARRIAGE ACT IS STILL NOT FOUND. HER MARRIAGE IS FOUND, 11 OCTOBER 2026 - THE SAME DAY THE QUESTION WAS ASKED. She married EDUARDO ZALDUONDO by civil act at Montevideo, 4th section, at five in the afternoon on 20 NOVEMBER 1897, act No. 83, folio 42, before the Juez de Paz GALLO PAREJA, the marriage itself recorded in expediente No. 94. SHE WAS LIVING AT PLAZA LIBERTAD No. 9 and he with his parents at calle Convencion No. 226. SHE SIGNED THE ACT HERSELF, 'Angelica Lerena' - her own hand, her own spelling, against an index that renders her 'Lerma', 'Zerena' and 'Lorena'. THE WITNESSES WERE NOT STRANGERS: FERNANDO MORATORIO, fifty, married, of commerce, of calle Uruguay 97 - almost certainly her UNCLE BY MARRIAGE, the husband of Josefa Lerena Traibel, her father's sister - and AGUSTIN RIVA, thirty-eight, married, empleado, of calle Sarandi 166. AND A DATE THAT ALMOST MATCHES: the act says she was born EIGHT APRIL 1871; her baptism says EIGHT APRIL 1872. SAME DAY, SAME MONTH, ONE YEAR APART. The day and month are what identify her and they agree exactly; the year is recorded here as a conflict rather than resolved, since a stated age or year on a marriage act is the party's own account. NO CHILDREN WERE LEGITIMISED: the act's 'Legitiman' line is BLANK, so all three children were born after November 1897.

Of the 6 relationships in the chart above, 6 are written in a record this archive has read .
At the font. Their godparent is Alejandro M. LERENA (m.1 Elisa VILLADEMOROS; m.2 Julia BASSANI). Godparent ties are not drawn in the chart above — it shows parents, spouses, children and siblings — but this family chose godparents from inside itself often enough that the pattern is evidence in its own right.
