HIS MARRIAGE, 8 November 2026: he is JULIAN AGUILAR, native of San Jose, son of Pedro Aguilar and Fermina Rojas, who married Gregoria Quintana there on 1 September 1847; the surname is Aguilar although the christening of 1870 does not write it. THE MARRIAGE ACT, found by a record-index query for the couple and read at the plate, 8 November 2026: San Jose, on 1 September 1847 (the neighbouring acts are of 14 August, 6 and 8 September 1847), the priest of the parish married 'Dn. Julian Aguilar, nat. de esta Villa, hijo legitimo de Dn. Pedro y Da. Fermina Rojas, con Da. Gregoria Quintana, nat. de la misma Villa, hija legitima de Dn. Jayme y Da. Felipa Estevas'; witnesses 'Dn. Julian Quintana y Da. Gregoria Cordero'. Read at ordinary size; the names agree with the index entry (XSX7-RQKT). THE IDENTIFICATION WITH PETRONA'S PARENTS rests on the names: the Trinidad christening of 1870 gives her son's maternal grandparents as 'Julian y Gregoria Quintana', and this is the one couple of that name the index shows in Uruguay; the death act of their son Guzman (1900, below) names the same two parents. No act names Petrona together with them. Their son Guzman Aguilar died at Montevideo in 1900 (see his row). This row keeps the name it had before the surname was known.
