Teresa SERENA (widow, of Cerro Largo)

A WIDOW OF CERRO LARGO, named on her daughter's marriage act of 4 January 1938 as 'TERESA SERENA, de nacionalidad oriental, DE ESTADO VIUDA, de profesion labores, domiciliada en el Dpto. de CERRO LARGO'. HER SURNAME ON THIS ACT MAY BE HER HUSBAND'S - he is FLORENCIO SERENA, fallecido - so this does not establish her as a Lerena born, and the 'couple of two Lerenas' the index reported is NOT DEMONSTRATED. AND HER DAUGHTER'S BIRTH REGISTRATION NAMES NO FATHER AT ALL: the Melo entry of 1 June 1908 gives 'Teresa Llerena' alone. A father appears only thirty years later, on the marriage act, by then dead. THAT IS A COMMON AND HUMAN SHAPE - a natural child later acknowledged - and this archive records it without deciding which happened.
