A SON OF DAMASO NEGROTTO AND ESPERANZA GONZALEZ, BORN 18 MARCH 1887 - A GRANDSON OF SERVANDO GONZALEZ AND ESTEFANIA LERENA, NEW TO THE REGISTER, FOUND 2 November 2026. Trinidad, Birth Records 1887-1888, image 26, act no. 44 (La Trinidad, 21 March 1887, 9 in the morning, before Manuel Sayago): 'Don DAMASO NEGROTTO, Italiano, de treinta y dos anos, casado, Doctor en Medicina, domiciliado en esta Villa' declares that on the 18th of the current month at half past one in the morning there was born at his house a son 'que recibio los nombres de MARIO LEOPOLDO EUGENIO', to him and 'Dona ESPERANZA GONZALES, Oriental, de veinte y nueve anos'; paternal grandparents Jose Negrotto and Francisca Cottalorda (Italians, dead), maternal 'SERVANDO F. GONZALES y ESTEFANIA LERENA, Orientales'; the witnesses Servando F. Gonzales (fifty-nine, casado, hacendado) and Juan Negrotto (thirty-seven, an Italian pharmacist); signed 'Damaso Negrotto'. A later hand in the margin (Montevideo, 23 June 1906, by order of the Juez Letrado, oficio 1990) rectifies the spelling 'Esperanza Gonzales' to 'Gonzalez' and 'Servando F. Gonzales' to 'Servando Gonzalez'. Other Negrotto children are held by their baptisms READ AT THE PLATE.
