Georgina TEMPLE
THE SCOTSWOMAN AT THE TOP OF THE ENGLISH LINE, and Mary Septima's maternal grandmother. Born Haddington 23 August 1814; a widow from 1851; living ALONE IN THE ALMS HOUSE AT NORTHAM in 1891, aged 77, 'living on means' - which is why the hypothesis that the six-year-old Mary Septima was staying with her grandmother on census night fails. HER SURNAME BECAME A FORENAME THREE TIMES - Isabella TEMPLE Taylor 1874, and through her mother Helen WALKER in 1845, 1876 and 1889. Died about January 1900, aged 85.
