m. Carlos Lerena; mother of Avelino Carlos Lerena. NOT THE SAME CARLOS LERENA AS ROSA MARIA EPPENS'S HUSBAND - checked 14 September 2026. A consistency check flagged that two rows here each say 'm. Carlos Lerena'. They are two different men. Hers is at MENDOZA and is the father of Avelino Carlos Lerena; the other is the URUGUAYAN CARLOS b.1885 who landed at Buenos Aires in 1926 travelling with Rosa M. E. Lerena herself. Recorded because nothing else in either row said so, and a later reader merging them would invent a marriage. The Mendoza connection is worth its own look: a CARLOS MARTINEZ LERENA appears in Mendoza parish records as a child of Julian Martinez and Carolina Lerena. HER SURNAME IS CARNIGLIA, WITH AN R, 9 October 2026. The Mendoza baptism act of 6 January 1900 writes 'Adela Carniglia' in the cura's hand, and the FamilySearch index of her son's army card agrees. THIS REGISTER HAS CARRIED 'CAMIGLIA' SINCE 13 SEPTEMBER and that is kept here as what it used to say. AND SHE IS ORIENTAL: the act calls the parents 'orientales, domiciliados en este Curato'. CARNIGLIA IS AN ITALIAN SURNAME, so Uruguayan-born of Italian parents is the likely shape - and the plural 'orientales' covers both parents, which is why her nationality is taken from it as well as his. TWO DAUGHTERS ARE ADDED TO HER: Maria Adela and Maria Mercedes. AND SHE IS NATURAL DE MONTEVIDEO, 9 October 2026. The printed form of 23 April 1902 gives 'y de Dona ADELA CARNIGLIA, natural de MONTEVIDEO'. AN ITALIAN SURNAME IN MENDOZA BY WAY OF THE BANDA ORIENTAL. AND HER OWN KIN ARE HERE: the godfather of this child is D. EDUARDO CARNIGLIA, and she herself stood proxy for the godmother.
