Felisa LERENA (arr. 1911)

Travelling with Gregorio. A CANDIDATE FOR THE FELISA OF A 1912 BUENOS AIRES BAPTISM, found 11 October 2026. The act: 'PARROQUIA Y VICARIA DE SAN JOSE DE FLORES. Godparents GREGORIO LERENA and ROSA DEFENARI. AND THIS IS WHERE A CEMLA ARRIVAL MIGHT BECOME A LIFE - BUT IT IS NOT MERGED. This register holds a FELISA LERENA and a GREGORIO LERENA who landed together at Buenos Aires on 7 DECEMBER 1911, off the INDIANA from BARCELONA, and nothing else about either of them. A Felisa and a Gregorio stand in this act eleven months later in a Buenos Aires parish. THE RESEMBLANCE IS REAL AND THE ARITHMETIC IS NOT CLEAN. The act makes Felisa twenty-one, so born about 1891; the 1911 passenger list makes her 1893, two years out - while the archive's OTHER Felisa, who arrived in 1923, is recorded 1891, which matches exactly and belongs to a woman arriving eleven years too late to baptise this child unless she crossed twice. AND THE ROLES DO NOT LINE UP: the 1911 pair travelled together, which usually means husband and wife or brother and sister, but here Gregorio is the GODFATHER and the husband is ELOY, who is not on that passenger list at all. NOTHING IS MERGED. Stated so that the next session tests it rather than inherits it.
