Zelmira Carlota LERENA LARRIERA (m. Adolfo CORDERO)
TESTED AND PLACED, 14 September 2026 - and she is NOT ours. Born 4 NOVEMBER 1880 in the Departamento de SAN JOSE, daughter of ALBERTO LERENA and MARIA INES LARRIERA; married ADOLFO CORDERO at Montevideo on 28 FEBRUARY 1901; died at Montevideo 4 JANUARY 1945. Children ADOLFO ANGEL FAUSTINO (b.1905, the San Jose baptism that found her), MARIA ZELMIRA (b.1903, d.1984) and MARIA EUGENIA. She was flagged because the shape was right - a Uruguayan Lerena woman married to an Argentine in the decade this archive cares about. The shape was right and the substance is not: she has a father, a birthplace and a date, and none of them touches Pablo Armando. BUT HER FATHER IS WORTH A SECOND LOOK, AND IS NOT MERGED. ALBERTO LERENA, fathering a daughter in 1880, would be the right age to be ALBERTO OCTAVIO LERENA LENGUAS - born Montevideo 22 March 1850, son of Luis and Justiniana, and so a grandson of Sancho. He would be thirty. NOTHING JOINS THEM but a forename and an age, which is precisely the evidence that produced the two Arturos. If it held, Zelmira would be a great-granddaughter of Sancho - and that is a hypothesis to test, not a line to draw. 'SHE IS NOT OURS' IS RETRACTED, 21 September 2026. SHE IS OURS. This row named the one test that would change its own verdict - who her father Alberto Lerena was - and guessed ALBERTO OCTAVIO LERENA LENGUAS. IT IS THE OTHER GRANDFATHER. Alberto Lerena's own Montevideo death registration of 2 March 1921, certificate 246, names his wife MARIA INES LARRIERA and his parents AVELINO LERENA and AMBROSIA TREIBEL. So her father is PEDRO ALBERTO YSABELINO LERENA TRAIBEL, baptised at the Aguada on 21 November 1852, and ZELMIRA IS A GREAT-GRANDDAUGHTER OF SANCHO - which is what this row said would follow if the link held. It held by a different route. THE LINK IS ONE RECORD AND IT IS INDEX-LEVEL: the 1921 image has not been opened, and that is now an errand. See data/alberto-lerena-larriera.tsv. AND THE LINK IS NO LONGER INDEX-LEVEL. Within the hour the 1921 image was opened - film 008165205 image 01604 - and it names her father's parents as AVELINO LERENA and AMBROSIA TREIBEL in his own hand-written act, and names HER among his nine children: 'Maria Adelina, ZELMIRA, Eleiza, Alberto, Carlos, Maria Ines, Maria Consuelo, Maria Antonieta y Miguel Avelino'. The chain from her to Sancho now rests on an image at every step that matters. AND HER MARRIAGE IS FOUND, 9 October 2026. Entry N. 7057, 1 FEBRUARY 1901: the Archbishop dispensed DON ADOLFO CORDERO the impediment of THIRD GRADE of consanguinity WITH ATTINGENCY TO THE SECOND, by the unequal lateral line, with which he was declared bound to DONA ZELMIRA CARLOTA LERENA, feligresa de la METROPOLITANA. SHE MARRIED A BLOOD RELATIVE, AND THAT IS A FACT ABOUT HER ANCESTRY RATHER THAN HER LIFE - the Church computed the degree before it would dispense, so the entry constrains her pedigree even though it names no parent. THIS ARCHIVE ONCE WROTE HER OFF as 'tested and placed - and she is not ours', and corrected that; here she is on a record of her own. AND HER MARRIAGE ACT WAS READ IN FULL ON 9 OCTOBER 2026, and it moves the date. Headed 'Matrimonio de Cordero y Lorena': on 28 FEBRUARY 1904 at the Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de Lourdes, La Union, before Bishop Ricardo Jara, she married D. ADOLFO MAXIMO CORDERO - soltero, ARGENTINO, MEDICO, twenty-eight, of SAN JOSE, legitimate son of D. ADOLFO M. CORDERO and Dona CASIMIRA CHAVARRIA. She is soltera, oriental, TWENTY years old, of CALLE CERRO LARGO 230, and hija legitima de D. Alberto [S]erena y Dona Maria Ines Larriera. THIS REGISTER SAYS SHE MARRIED IN 1901 AND THE ACT SAYS 1904 - same day, same month. The book runs 1902-1934 and the entry above it is dated May 1902, so 1901 is impossible and the act is primary. The dispensation of 1 February 1901 cleared them three years before they married. AND HER AGE DOES NOT FIT EITHER: twenty in February 1904 means born about 1883-84, not 4 November 1880. Both are recorded and neither is preferred. HER PARENTS ARE NOW ON A PRIMARY RECORD rather than an index - and the act writes her father SERENA and her mother, as a witness four lines later, LERENA.
