What is known
RAMON LERENA'S FIRST WIFE, FOUND 26 October 2026, AND THE TREE'S 'MARGARITA LEAL'. At Rosario del Colla on 16 May 1789 Ramon Llerena, son of Salvador Llerena and Ana Cubas of Valdemoro, married 'Margarita Leal, natural del Tucuman, Obispado de Cordova, viuda de Pedro Cabrera' (plate read), with Sebastian Gonzalez and Magdalena Fuentes of the bishopric of Buenos Aires as witnesses. She was therefore already a widow, so born before about 1770, and from Tucuman. Nothing else is known: no death, no child of hers and Ramon's is found, and the Gabino of Flores whom the tree gives her as mother was a son of Ramon and Maria Gonzalez by his death act. SHE WAS ALREADY A WOMAN OF STANDING AT COLLA, 26 October 2026: the plate of a baptism of 1779 at the chapel of the Rosario names two enslaved people 'de Vicente Cabrera y de Margta. Leal' (the clerk's 'Vz.te'); in October 1782 'Pedro Vicente Cabrera y Margarita Leal' are godparents together; in February 1782 she alone is godmother; and her husband 'Pedro Vicente Cabrera, casado con Margarita Leal', was buried inside the church on 11 January 1789 after making a will. She married Ramon Llerena four months later. So she is the owner of the enslaved household at the Rosario chapel, and the 'widow' for whom a Ramon Lerena counted cattle in 1794 may be she: the register has not read that document for her name. She was godmother again in July 1789 (a machine transcript of the Colonia volume, image 50). [CORRECTED 26 October 2026: the row above names her first husband Pedro Cabrera; the burial gives him as Pedro Vicente.]
