THE SECOND OF THE FOUR UNTRACED FATHERS OF CAJON 985, AND THE ONE THIS ARCHIVE HAD ALREADY GOT WRONG. The Chilean death registration of his infant son, 18 September 1894, names him 'padre ARTURO LERENA GARCIA' - SO HIS MOTHER WAS A GARCIA, which is the first thing ever held about his parents. AND IT CONFIRMS A WITHDRAWAL: data/cajon-985-origins.tsv first read him as a son of AVELINO LERENA and AMBROSIA TRAIBEL and withdrew it the same day as a conflation with JUAN ARTURO LERENA TRAIBEL (wife Ema Regules). A MAN WRITTEN LERENA GARCIA IS NOT A SON OF AMBROSIA TRAIBEL, so the doubt is now a document. HIS FAMILY MOVED ACROSS THE ANDES AND BACK: La Pampa 1889, VALPARAISO 1893-94, Mendoza 1896, Entre Rios 1897 - and Mendoza is the Argentine city at the foot of the pass to Valparaiso. HE IS NOT PLACED IN A COUNTRY. The Chilean form records nationality for the DECEASED only and never asks where the father was born. THE TEST: his marriage to Amalia Diaz, or an Entre Rios civil registration of one of his other children. HE IS SPANISH AND HE IS A JOURNALIST, 10 October 2026 - AND THAT BREAKS A PATTERN THIS ARCHIVE PUBLISHED THE DAY BEFORE. His son Antonio's marriage at Crespo, Entre Rios, on 24 October 1924 is a printed form with a 'de nacionalidad' blank for each parent, and it reads 'hijo de ARTURO LERENA, de nacionalidad ESPANOLA, de profesion PERIODISTA, y de AMALIA DIAZ, de nacionalidad PERUANA'. HE ALSO STOOD WITNESS AT THAT WEDDING: 'Los testigos Arturo Lerena, de cincuenta y [units digit not read] anos, de profesion Periodista, de estado casado, domiciliado en PARANA' - so born about 1865-1874, and the age is what proves the witness is the father and not the son, who was twenty-eight. SO THE CLAIM THAT EVERY TRACEABLE FATHER IN CAJON 985 IS URUGUAYAN OR MARRIED IN URUGUAY IS BROKEN - he is a Spaniard married to a Peruvian. WHAT SURVIVES IS WEAKER: NOT ONE OF THE FIVE IS ARGENTINE. AND HIS MOTHER WAS A GARCIA by the Chilean compound - so a Spanish-born Lerena whose mother's surname is known, which is what /open-questions/ question 5 has been asking for. A THIRD POSSIBLE SON, 11 October 2026: VICENTE LERENA DIAZ, Jefe del Registro Civil of Pueblo Brugo in Entre Rios in 1938 - the department where Antonio married in 1924. NOT ESTABLISHED. IF IT HOLDS, THIS SPANISH JOURNALIST'S SONS PUT DOWN ROOTS IN ONE ARGENTINE DEPARTMENT, which is a shape this archive could test against the Entre Rios registers rather than guess at.
