Bernabe LERENA (the elder, of the 1911 diagram)
THE APEX OF THE FIRST SCHEMA, and a person this archive never held until the plate was opened. The diagram puts him alone at the top, with lines down to BERNABE LERENA and MARIA LERENA - so he is the father of both, and the grandfather of the groom Custodio Lerena. HE EXISTS BECAUSE A PRIEST DREW HIM. No act read here names him otherwise, he has no dates, and the diagram gives him no wife; a kinship schema draws only the line it has to prove. HIS SON CARRIES HIS NAME, which is why the register held a BERNABE LERENA for a week without noticing there were two. And a third Bernabe Lerena sat in this register unattached - the one of Trinidad, Flores, who married Casimira Pelaez. THAT IS NO LONGER TRUE: on 9 October 2026 he was documented as a son of ALEJANDRO LERENA and MARGARITA FERNANDEZ and a grandson of RAMON LERENA and MARIA JOSEFA GONZALEZ, by his own marriage expediente of 1858 and his father's marriage act of 1825. AND IT DOES NOT TOUCH THIS MAN, 9 October 2026. He is the apex of the 1911 schema, father of a Bernabe who married Florinda Cardozo, and nothing yet joins HIM to Ramon's house. THREE MEN OF THE NAME REMAIN THREE. AND THIS ROW'S CAUTION EARNED ITS KEEP: it said 'the forename is not proof', and the proof, when it came for the other man, was two marriage acts naming parents - not a resemblance. THE SAME STANDARD STILL APPLIES HERE.
